The Wicked, the Slayer and Death

In the shadows,
the Wicked slumbered
The claws of retribution
dug into the ground

-

The theft of his courage
was not to be ignored
and thus he slain
the filthy, little thieves

But the once so brave
did not recover his valour
His deeds did not
go unseen

For in the outlines,
the Wicked awaited
The claws of vengeance
dug into the earth

His name was
not to be spoken
And his heart was
not to be heard

The Wicked told the Slayer:
"You cannot win your
former valour back
by taking lives.

You are one of lore,
and thus you should know -
the slaying is mine
and mine alone.

Behold how Death
glares at your crimes.
You will soon be among
your kin, them demons"

And so the Wicked
laughed at the Slayer
And his laughter echoed
through the Valleys of Dust

But the Slayer kept
wondering why the world
is such an unfair place,
while Death dragged him
down to the deepest levels
of hell
